Director K. Dhananjaya says the film explores the dangers of online gaming and social media addiction among youth while delivering a family-friendly suspense thriller

News Flash Desk: A new Kannada film titled Antaryami is set for statewide release on March 6, aiming to raise awareness about the growing impact of online gaming and social networking addiction among youth, according to the film’s director K. Dhananjaya.

Addressing a press conference in Tumakuru (Karnataka) on Thursday (Today), the director said the film focuses on the hidden and dangerous aspects of social media platforms that increasingly influence young people.

Film Focuses on Youth and Social Media Impact

Director K. Dhananjaya explained that Antaryami highlights how online games and social networking platforms, though popular among youth, can sometimes lead to serious social and psychological consequences.

He said the movie delivers an eye-opening narrative about family values, friendship, and society, while also offering entertainment, comedy, and suspense thriller elements that make it suitable for family audiences.

“The film reveals the darker side of social networking sites while also conveying the importance of family, friendship and responsible living,” the director said during the media interaction.

Tumkur University Alumnus Writes Lyrics

The film’s lyrics have been written by Vinay Kavyakanti, an alumnus of the Siddhartha Media Studies Center and a former lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Tumkur University.

Speaking at the event, he said one of the songs in the film encourages youth to break free from excessive social media use. The music and dialogues supporting the lyrics were composed by Desi Mohan, a disciple of renowned music legend Hamsalekha.

Vinay expressed confidence that the music and message of the film would resonate strongly with audiences.

Producer Naveen N.G. revealed that the movie was completed in 25 days of shooting across several locations, including the historic Siddaganga Math, Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Bandemath, Somwarpet, Madapura, and other scenic locations across Karnataka.

He added that the film marks the debut production venture of Guru Renuka Productions.

During the press conference, Vani from Samashthi Global Foundation Gurukul Mission announced that the organisation plans to screen the film in schools and colleges across Karnataka, as the movie addresses issues affecting youth.
