Tehran: Multiple explosions were reported across several parts of Iran early Wednesday morning, according to eyewitness accounts shared with Iran International. The blasts were heard in key cities spanning southern, western, and central regions, raising concerns over a wider security situation.


Blasts Near Strategic Ports in South

In Bandar Abbas, a major port city on the Persian Gulf, a series of explosions were reported near naval and port facilities.

  • Around 8:00 AM, blasts were heard near the navy area and Shahid Bahonar Port
  • At 8:15 AM, further explosions occurred in the Jahanbar area
  • By 8:40 AM, additional blasts were reported near the oil terminal and control tower at Shahid Rajaee Port

Explosion Shakes Ahvaz

In Ahvaz, the main city of the oil-rich Khuzestan province, a strong explosion was reported around 9:30 AM in the Zeytoun Karmandi neighborhood. The blast was powerful enough to rattle windows in nearby homes.


Early Morning Blasts in Western Iran

An explosion was also reported at around 5:00 AM in Songhor, a town located near the Iraq border, indicating possible activity in western Iran.


Southern and Central Regions Also Hit

Near Kazerun, another explosion was heard at approximately 6:55 AM.

In Malard, west of the capital, multiple blasts were reported between 6:50 AM and 7:10 AM. Nearby Fardis also reported several explosions around 7:11 AM, including in the Naz district.

Rising Concerns Amid Tensions

The widespread nature of these explosions, especially near strategic infrastructure such as ports and oil terminals, has raised concerns about escalating tensions in the region.
