Chikkaballapur: A tragic and shocking incident was reported from Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur district, where a 70-year-old man was burnt alive inside his moving car after the vehicle suddenly caught fire near Achepalli village in Bagepalli taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Uday Kumar, a resident of Penumale village. According to initial reports, the fire spread rapidly inside the vehicle, leaving the driver with no chance to escape, ultimately leading to his death at the spot.
Sudden Fire Engulfs Moving Car
According to preliminary information gathered by authorities, Uday Kumar was traveling in his car when the vehicle suddenly caught fire near Achepalli village. Within moments, the flames spread rapidly across the car, engulfing the entire vehicle.
The sudden intensity of the fire reportedly trapped the driver inside, making it impossible for him to get out in time.
Despite attempts by nearby residents to control the fire and rescue the driver, the flames had already intensified, and Uday Kumar was burnt alive inside the car.
Local Residents Attempt Rescue
Witnesses and local villagers who noticed the burning vehicle rushed to the scene and attempted to extinguish the fire and rescue the driver. However, the blaze spread quickly and the car was almost completely engulfed in flames before any effective help could arrive.
By the time the fire subsided, the vehicle had been completely gutted, and the driver had tragically lost his life.
Possible Short Circuit Suspected
Authorities suspect that an electrical short circuit inside the vehicle may have caused the sudden fire. Such incidents can occur due to faulty wiring, overheating components, or fuel system leaks, though the exact cause will be confirmed only after a detailed investigation.
The car was reportedly completely destroyed in the fire, leaving little evidence for immediate analysis.
Police Begin Investigation
Following the incident, Bagepalli police officials arrived at the scene and conducted an initial inspection. The body was later sent for further procedures as per legal requirements.
A case has been registered at the Bagepalli Police Station, and authorities have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Officials are also expected to examine the vehicle remains and technical factors that may have contributed to the tragedy.
