Shimla: In a significant anti-drug operation, a newly married couple was arrested with over 21 grams of heroin in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, police officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The arrest took place at a hotel in Sundernagar, where police recovered 21.01 grams of ‘chitta’ (adulterated heroin) from the accused.

Accused Identified
The arrested individuals have been identified as Arun Bhatti and Parul Guleria, both residents of Mandi, who had recently tied the knot.
According to police, the operation was launched following specific intelligence inputs about drug trafficking activities involving individuals staying at the hotel. Acting swiftly, officers conducted a raid and apprehended the couple.
Authorities are now probing the source of the drug and whether the couple is linked to a larger drug network operating in the region.
