Shivamogga: In a sudden and alarming incident, a swarm of honeybees attacked pedestrians in Ripponpete, leaving several school children and a bank staff member injured.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in front of the State Bank of India located along the main road, where the bees reportedly attacked without warning.
Children and Bank Staff Targeted
According to local reports, school children walking along the road were caught in the attack, along with a bank employee identified as Tausif. He reportedly sustained more than 20 bee stings on his face, while the children managed to escape with minor injuries.
The sudden nature of the attack created panic in the area, with passersby rushing for cover.
Immediate Medical Assistance Provided
All the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby Primary Health Centre, where they received prompt treatment.
Local sources confirmed that all four victims are out of danger and are currently recovering.

The incident has raised concerns among residents about safety in busy public areas, especially near schools and commercial establishments.
Authorities are expected to take precautionary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
