Gadag: In a horrifying incident, a family dispute over a marriage proposal turned deadly in Gadag district, where an elder brother allegedly killed his younger sibling in a fit of rage. The incident occurred in the Hirekoppa village of Nargund taluk.
Victim Identified, Accused Arrested
The deceased has been identified as Fakirappa (19), who was reportedly killed after his elder brother, Ashok, attacked him with a stone, crushing his head. Police have taken the accused into custody and initiated further investigation.
Background of the Incident
According to preliminary reports, both brothers were originally residents of Ramdurg taluk, specifically from Chikka Molangi village. They had travelled to Hirekoppa for sheep grazing work.
During their stay, a dispute arose regarding a girl and a possible marriage alliance, which escalated into a violent confrontation between the siblings.
Argument Turns Fatal
The heated argument reportedly spiralled out of control, leading Ashok to lift a heavy stone and attack Fakirappa, resulting in his death on the spot.
The murder highlights how personal disputes, when unchecked, can lead to tragic and irreversible outcomes within families.
