A suspected natural death in Bengaluru’s Austin Town turned into a shocking murder case after relatives noticed blood during funeral preparations, leading to the arrest of the accused

Bengaluru: 52-year-old physically disabled man was allegedly beaten to death over a house-vacation dispute. The crime came to light only during funeral preparations when family members noticed suspicious signs and alerted police.

The deceased has been identified as Inayat Pasha, a resident of Austin Town. Police have arrested Masoor Ahmed in connection with the incident.

The case falls under the jurisdiction of Viveknagar Police Station, where a murder investigation has now been registered.

Suspicion Arises During Funeral Preparations

According to police officials, the family initially believed the death to be natural or accidental. However, while preparing the body for the funeral, relatives noticed blood oozing from the victim’s mouth, raising suspicion.

The family immediately alerted police, who rushed to the spot and registered a case of unnatural death before sending the body for post-mortem examination.

The post-mortem report later confirmed that the victim had been assaulted on the face and chest, indicating that the death was the result of violent physical attack rather than natural causes.

“The autopsy confirmed injuries on the face and chest which led to the victim’s death. Based on the findings, a murder case has been registered,” police officials said.

Victim Lived in Rented House

Police investigations revealed that Inayat Pasha was living in a leased ground-floor house owned by Usma Banu, the sister of the accused, in Austin Town.

Pasha worked as a two-wheeler mechanic and had been suffering from polio-related disability in his left leg since birth, making him physically vulnerable.

Investigators said that the accused Masoor Ahmed, a consultant working in a private firm in HSR Layout, had allegedly been pressuring the victim to vacate the house for several days.

How the Crime Unfolded

Police said the victim’s son Syed Mohammed Ali noticed his father missing from home around 6:45 pm on March 1.

The accused later told family members that he had visited the house earlier and claimed that Pasha may have died after consuming alcohol and accidentally falling from his bed.

Trusting the explanation and considering the victim’s disability, the family initially assumed it was a natural death and did not inform police.

However, the truth emerged only when blood stains were noticed during funeral arrangements.

Accused Confesses During Interrogation

During police interrogation, Masoor Ahmed allegedly confessed to the crime.

Investigators revealed that he had visited the victim’s house around 4:30 pm on the day of the incident and again pressured him to vacate the premises.

When the victim refused, a heated argument broke out, during which Ahmed allegedly punched Pasha repeatedly in the face and eyes and struck him on the chest, leading to his death on the spot.

Police said the accused cleaned the scene and attempted to stage the incident as an accidental fall to avoid suspicion.

The accused has now been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
