Brutal killing in D.J. Halli shocks city, accused identified as fiancé; motive remains unclear as police launch hunt
Bengaluru: In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves across the city, a minor girl was brutally murdered by her own fiancé inside an abandoned house in D.J. Halli. The accused, identified as Shabeel (20), is currently absconding, with police launching an intensive search operation.
The incident occurred early Monday morning around 6:30 am, but came to light only at 11 am, raising serious concerns over safety and delayed reporting.
Brutal Murder Inside Isolated Property
According to preliminary investigation, the accused allegedly strangled the victim, identified as Joyaya, inside a deserted house reportedly owned by his family. The property, located in Sakkare Mandi area, was not inhabited, but sources indicate that the couple used to visit the place frequently.
After committing the crime, Shabeel fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of shock and unanswered questions.
Police Confirm Identity, Launch Manhunt
Confirming the development, Vikram Amate, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru East Division, stated that the accused has been identified and efforts are underway to apprehend him.
“The SOCO team has inspected the spot. The accused has been identified, and the exact motive will be known after his arrest,” the officer said.
The police were alerted after family members of the accused reported the incident, following which a case was registered at the local police station.
Motive Remains a Mystery
Despite identifying the accused, investigators are still uncertain about the motive behind the murder. Officials suspect that personal or relationship-related issues may have led to the crime, but no confirmation has been made.
The lack of clarity has further intensified the gravity of the case, with investigators probing all possible angles.
Pattern of Violence Over Marriage Disputes
The incident comes amid a worrying trend of violent crimes linked to relationships and marriage disputes. On the same day, a separate case in Gadag reported a brother killing his sibling over a marriage-related conflict.
These back-to-back incidents highlight a disturbing pattern of escalating violence rooted in personal relationships, raising broader concerns about emotional control and conflict resolution.
Investigation Intensified
Police teams are currently conducting raids at possible hideouts to track down the accused. Forensic experts have examined the crime scene, and further evidence is being collected to strengthen the case.
Authorities have assured that the accused will be arrested soon, and strict legal action will follow.
