Rs 9.45 crore project aims to attract 7–8 lakh annual tourists from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh

Vijayapura: In a major boost to tourism infrastructure in North Karnataka, a new water amusement park was inaugurated at Alamatti in Vijayapura district by District In-charge Minister M. B. Patil and Minister Shivanand Patil.

The project, developed at a cost of Rs 9.45 crore, has been constructed on five acres of land following sustained demands from local residents, tourists and public representatives. Officials stated that the region, despite attracting nearly 7 to 8 lakh visitors annually from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, lacked a dedicated water amusement facility until now.

Tourism Boost for North Karnataka

Alamatti has emerged as one of the prominent tourist destinations in North Karnataka, drawing visitors to its scenic backwaters and surrounding attractions. With rising footfall every year, the absence of a water park was widely felt. The newly inaugurated facility is expected to enhance the recreational appeal of the region and increase tourist stay duration.

The water amusement park features a main building equipped with a swimming pool, ticket counter, security room, waiting hall, locker rooms, bathrooms and toilets. Infrastructure also includes internal pathways, a medical first aid clinic and a water storage system.

Multiple Water Rides and Family Attractions

The park offers five categories of water attractions catering to different age groups. These include play zones for young children, dedicated water slides for children and senior citizens, large family water amusement rides, combined family and youth slides, exclusive youth water slides and recreational water pools.

With temperatures already rising sharply in Vijayapura district, authorities have positioned the park as a key summer destination for families seeking relief from the heat.

Officials expressed confidence that the new facility will not only serve local residents but also strengthen Alamatti’s position on Karnataka’s tourism map.
