Special Court Dismisses Suraj Revanna’s Plea to Drop Name from Sexual Assault Case

People’s Representatives Court Rejects JDS MLC’s Review Petition in Holenarasipura Police Case

Bengaluru: The Special Court for People’s Representatives has dismissed the review petition filed by JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna seeking his removal from a sexual assault case registered at the Holenarasipura police station.


A bench presided over by Justice Santosh Gajanana Bhat rejected the petition, thereby allowing the proceedings in the case to continue.

Court Rejects Plea for Removal from Case

Suraj Revanna had approached the Special Court seeking to have his name dropped from the case, which pertains to allegations of sexual assault involving a party worker. The court, after hearing arguments, dismissed the review petition and declined to interfere with the ongoing investigation and trial process.


The case was registered at Holenarasipura police station in Hassan district, following a complaint alleging sexual assault.


Arrest and Bail

Earlier, Suraj Revanna was arrested in connection with the case and remanded to judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail. He was subsequently granted conditional bail by the Special Court for People’s Representatives approximately a month later.


With the dismissal of the review petition, legal proceedings in the matter are expected to move forward as per due process of law.
