Prime Minister to Flag Off 82-Km Delhi–Meerut NaMo Bharat Corridor; CM Yogi Adityanath Reviews Security and Logistical Arrangements in Meerut

Meerut: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the NaMo Bharat train service and the Meerut Metro Today, besides launching and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth approximately Rs. 12,930 crore in western Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister will also address a public meeting during his visit.


Ahead of the high-profile event, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed security and logistical preparations in Meerut, inspecting arrangements at Shatabdi Nagar station and the public meeting venue.


Multi-Layered Security, Traffic Diversions in Place

Officials have put in place a multi-layered security system, intensified traffic diversions, and detailed protocols for VIP movement. The Chief Minister assessed cleanliness measures, parking facilities, traffic management plans, and security deployment to ensure the programme's smooth execution.

Authorities confirmed that elaborate arrangements have been made at key points, including Shatabdi Nagar NaMo Bharat Station and the rally venue in Mohiuddinpur.

PM Modi’s Itinerary in Meerut

According to the district administration, the Prime Minister will arrive at Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad at around 11 am before proceeding to Meerut. CM Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to reach the helipad near Shatabdi Nagar station at approximately 11:15 am and will receive the Prime Minister at 11:30 am, news agency PTI reported.

At around 12:30 pm, the Prime Minister will flag off the NaMo Bharat train and the Meerut Metro from Shatabdi Nagar NaMo Bharat Station. Following the inauguration, PM Modi and the Chief Minister will undertake a metro ride up to Meerut South station.

From Meerut South, the Prime Minister will travel by road to Mohiuddinpur, where he is expected to address a public meeting at around 1 pm. During the event, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth nearly ₹12,930 crore.


The Prime Minister will also dedicate the entire 82-km Delhi–Meerut NaMo Bharat corridor to the nation, including the newly completed sections between Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi, and Meerut South and Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh.


High-Speed Connectivity Boost for NCR and Western UP

NaMo Bharat is India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System designed to enhance high-speed connectivity between Delhi and Meerut. With a design speed of 180 kmph, it aims to provide fast and high-frequency commuter services across the corridor.


The Meerut Metro, operating on the same infrastructure, will become India’s fastest metro system with a top operational speed of around 120 kmph. It is expected to cover the full stretch in approximately 30 minutes, according to ANI.


Officials state that the project is set to significantly improve regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and spur economic growth across western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region.
