A revenge attack rocks Bommalapur village as a man and his son-in-law suffer severe injuries in a gang assault linked to a love marriage disputeMandya: A man named Prakash and his son-in-law Naveen, were brutally assaulted by a group of villagers, police confirmed. The attack is believed to have been carried out over a love marriage dispute, sparking outrage across the locality, this incident occurred in Bommalapur village, K.R. Pete taluk.
Attack Details: Revenge Over Love Marriage
Authorities reported that Girish, Sanju, Ganesh, Puttaraju, and Ninganna allegedly carried out the attack. Prakash was stripped, and his legs were crushed with a stone, while Naveen was also assaulted.

The attack is suspected to be revenge for helping a young woman from the village marry the man she loved, after her father, Ninganna, disapproved.
“It appears the assault was motivated by revenge, following the young woman’s elopement and subsequent love marriage. The police are investigating all angles,” a senior police official stated.
Prior Conflict: Midnight Retaliation
Reports suggest that on February 21, Prakash and Naveen had entered Sanju’s house at midnight and assaulted him, following verbal abuse from Ninganna and Sanju, who accused Prakash of aiding the young woman’s elopement.
The attack on February 22 is believed to be retaliation by Sanju, Girish, and their group for the prior assault.
Police Response: Arrests and Investigation
Following the incident, Pandavapura police arrived at the scene and registered a case. The main accused, Girish, has been arrested, while efforts continue to apprehend the remaining accused involved in the attack. Authorities are gathering evidence and witness statements to ensure swift action.
