Police seized 2 kg 91 grams of ganja worth around Rs 1 lakh 4,550 during a raid at a house in Naregal town
Police arrested 22-year-old Basavaraj Haranashikari in Naregal, Gadag district, after seizing 2 kg 91 grams of ganja during a raid.
Gadag: Police have arrested a 22-year-old youth on charges of selling marijuana in Naregal town of Gajendragad taluk in Gadag district. The arrested accused has been identified as Basavaraj Haranashikari.
Police conducted the raid based on specific information that the accused was collecting and selling ganja from his home. During the operation, police seized 2 kg 91 grams of ganja stored in the god room of the house.
The value of the seized ganja is estimated to be around Rs 1 lakh 4,550. Police were also surprised to find that kgs of ganja were stored in the temple's room, according to the information provided by the police.
Ganja Selling Case Under Investigation
During the interrogation of the accused, police said they obtained information that ganja was being brought from Maharashtra, collected and sold. The information has led police to continue investigating the network behind the ganja racket.
Police are continuing their investigation into the source of the ganja and the network allegedly involved in bringing, collecting and selling it.
