A 38-year-old woman allegedly died after her husband assaulted her during a dispute over cooking. A post-mortem revealed serious injuries, prompting police to register a murder case.


Nagpur: A 38-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband following an argument over cooking before she was due to attend a dance class in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Police have arrested the accused, identified as Krishna Lal Yadav, 41.


The deceased has been identified as Yamini, 38. According to the available information, the incident took place at a housing society where Yamini was preparing to leave for her dance class.


Argument over cooking Turns Violent

Police said Krishna Lal returned home from work and asked Yamini to prepare food. Yamini reportedly refused, saying she had to leave for her dance class.

Krishna Lal was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time. An argument reportedly followed, during which he allegedly assaulted Yamini on her neck and abdomen.

The alleged assault took place in front of the couple's two children, according to the information available.


Woman dies During Treatment

Following the alleged assault, Yamini reportedly complained of severe pain in her neck and abdomen and asked her husband to get medicines.

Krishna Lal allegedly went to a medical shop but returned without the medicines, saying that the shop was closed.

Yamini's abdomen subsequently became swollen and her condition reportedly deteriorated. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.


Post-mortem Reveals Serious Injuries

Police initially registered a case of accidental death and sent Yamini's body for a post-mortem examination.

The post-mortem report reportedly revealed serious injuries, including a fracture of a neck bone and severe intestinal damage.

Following the findings, police questioned Krishna Lal. During interrogation, he allegedly admitted to assaulting his wife, according to police.


Police subsequently registered a murder case against him and arrested him. Further investigation is underway.
