South Western Railway will operate a special train between Yeshwantpur and Bidar on September 11 and 12, with stops across Karnataka and Telangana routes during Ganesh Chaturthi.


Bengaluru: South Western Railway (SWR) has announced a special train service between Yeshwantpur and Bidar to manage the additional passenger rush and facilitate travel during the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival.


The 18-coach special train will operate via several major stations, including Yelahanka, Dharmavaram, Raichur and Kalaburagi.


Yeshwantpur-Bidar Special Train Schedule

According to the Railway Department, train number 06589 Yeshwantpur-Bidar Express Special will depart from Yeshwantpur at 11:15 pm on Friday, September 11.

The train is scheduled to reach Bidar at 2:15 pm on Saturday, September 12.

On the return journey, train number 06590 Bidar-Yeshwantpur Express Special will depart from Bidar at 4:00 pm on September 12 and is scheduled to reach Yeshwantpur at 5:30 am on Sunday, September 13.


Special Train To Stop At 13 Stations

The special train will halt at several stations on both the onward and return journeys.

The scheduled stops include Yelahanka, Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal, Adoni, Mantralaya Road, Raichur, Krishna, Yadgiri, Shahabad, Kalaburagi and Humnabad.

The service is intended to provide additional travel capacity during the festival period and help accommodate passengers travelling between Bengaluru, northern Karnataka and Bidar.


Yeshwantpur-Bidar Train To Have 18 Coaches

The special service will comprise a total of 18 coaches. The composition includes nine sleeper class coaches, seven general second-class coaches and two second-class luggage-cum-Divyangjan coaches.


Passengers travelling during the festival period can check the latest schedule and availability before planning their journey.


Train Services To Face Delays Due To Tiptur Works

Meanwhile, South Western Railway has announced changes to the movement of some trains due to infrastructure development works in the Tiptur area.

According to the Railway Department, several trains may face delays or operational restrictions ranging from 15 to 90 minutes between September 10 and September 12.

The affected services include KSR Bengaluru-SSS Hubli (20688), Yeshwantpur-Sindhanur (16545), KSR Bengaluru-Belgaum (20653) and Yeshwantpur-Vijayapura (16547).


Passengers travelling on these routes have been advised to take the temporary operational changes into account while planning their journeys during the affected period.
