Police in Belagavi have arrested three accused in connection with the murder of former soldier Rudrappa Kundaragi and his daughter Shashikala at Avaradi Gram Panchayat in Kittur taluk.
Belagavi: Police have arrested three accused in connection with the murder of a former soldier and his daughter at Avaradi Gram Panchayat in Kittur taluk.
The arrested accused have been identified as Basappa Kundaragi, Sangappa Kundaragi and Madivalappa Kundaragi. According to the police, the accused are brothers of murdered former soldier Rudrappa Kundaragi and Madivalappa is Rudrappa’s son.
Police have also seized the weapons allegedly used in the murder. The incident was reportedly linked to a dispute between family members over a property issue. Rudrappa Kundaragi, 67, and his daughter Shashikala Kundaragi, 26, were allegedly attacked when they went to the Gram Panchayat in connection with the property.
Belagavi Property Dispute Turns Deadly At Gram Panchayat
According to the information provided, Rudrappa and Shashikala were brutally murdered at the Avaradi Gram Panchayat. Rudrappa’s car driver was also seriously injured in the incident and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Police have taken the three accused into custody as part of the investigation and recovered the weapons allegedly used in the attack.
The case has reportedly emerged from a dispute among the brothers concerning the same property. Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and the sequence of events at the Gram Panchayat.
