Aishwarya, daughter of Tumakuru Rural MLA B Suresh Gowda, has been accused of slapping PSI Savita during a dispute over entry to the sanctum at a temple in Srirangapatna, Mandya.
Mandya: A case has been registered against Aishwarya, daughter of BJP MLA from Tumkur Rural constituency B Suresh Gowda, after she was accused of assaulting and slapping woman police sub-inspector (PSI) Savita while the officer was on security duty at a temple in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district.
The incident took place at Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple in Aarthi Ukkad village during Bhima Amavasya on Wednesday, August 12. Thousands of devotees had gathered at the temple for the aarti, following which police personnel were deployed to manage security and regulate the movement of devotees.
According to the information available, Aishwarya entered the temple through the VIP line and later attempted to enter the sanctum sanctorum. PSI Savita, who was deployed at the location, stopped her, citing the large number of devotees inside the temple.
Aishwarya Stopped by PSI at Mandya Temple
Aishwarya had visited the Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple during the Bhima Amavasya observance.
After entering through the VIP line, she reportedly attempted to proceed towards the sanctum sanctorum. PSI Savita of Kyathanahalli Police Station stopped her and informed her that entry could not be permitted because the number of devotees inside the temple had increased.
At the same time, Circle Inspector Lakshmi, who was reportedly on duty in plain clothes, moved towards the sanctum sanctorum. Aishwarya then questioned why the Circle Inspector had been allowed to enter while she had been stopped.
PSI Savita reportedly explained that Lakshmi was the Circle Inspector and was performing official duty at the location.
Aishwarya Allegedly Slapped PSI Savita
According to the information provided, Aishwarya continued to insist on entering the sanctum sanctorum and said that she needed to go inside. The exchange between Aishwarya and PSI Savita reportedly developed into an argument.
During the confrontation, Aishwarya allegedly slapped PSI Savita while the officer was on duty. The incident occurred amid the deployment of police personnel at the temple for crowd management and security arrangements during Bhima Amavasya.
Case Registered Against MLA Suresh Gowda’s Daughter
Following the incident, Kyathanahalli Police Station registered a case against Aishwarya. The case concerns allegations of obstructing and assaulting a government official while the officer was carrying out official duties.
Police have begun an investigation into the incident and are examining the circumstances surrounding the confrontation at the temple.
The investigation is expected to establish the sequence of events leading up to the alleged assault and the circumstances in which the confrontation took place.
Srirangapatna Temple Incident Under Investigation
The incident occurred at Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple in Aarthi Ukkad village of Srirangapatna taluk, where thousands of devotees had gathered for the Bhima Amavasya aarti.
