A Class 10 student in Sultanganj, Bhagalpur, alleged that Kamlesh abducted her at gunpoint while she was going to coaching. Police detained Kamlesh and his brother Durgesh after the complaint.
Bhagalpur: A Class 10 student was allegedly abducted at gunpoint while she was travelling to a coaching centre in Sultanganj, Bhagalpur district, Bihar, on Wednesday afternoon. The incident took place around 3:30 pm on Station Road, according to the complaint filed by the student.
The student alleged that a youth identified as Kamlesh forced her onto his motorcycle after displaying a weapon and took her to Kathara. She further alleged that he took her into a room and attempted to rape her. When she resisted, the accused allegedly assaulted her, causing her to lose consciousness.
Following police pressure, the accused allegedly abandoned the student around 200 metres from her home and fled. The student later reached her house and informed her family about the incident.
Bihar Student Abduction Case Complaint Filed
According to the student's complaint, she was travelling to tuition when Kamlesh allegedly approached her on a motorcycle and threatened her with a weapon.
She alleged that he forcibly took her to Kathara, where he brought her into a room and attempted to rape her. The student said she resisted the alleged assault, following which Kamlesh allegedly beat her until she became unconscious.
After regaining consciousness, the student found herself near a railway crossing close to Murarka College. She subsequently managed to reach her home and told her family members what had happened.
The student has filed a complaint at the police station against Kamlesh, who, according to the complaint, is the son of a neighbouring police inspector.
Accused's Brother Allegedly Threatened Family
After hearing the student's account, her family members and local residents went to the accused's house. According to the information provided, Kamlesh's elder brother Durgesh allegedly threatened the people gathered outside by displaying a weapon from the rooftop of the house.
A Dial-112 police team reached the location after the situation was reported. Police took both Kamlesh and Durgesh into custody.
The incident occurred after the alleged abduction of the student while she was travelling to a coaching centre. The accused allegedly later abandoned her near her home following increased police pressure.
Bihar Police Investigation Into Student Case
During the police investigation, officials found that the father of the two detained brothers, Uday Yadav, is posted as a sub-inspector in Samastipur.
Uday Yadav is originally from Kathara. According to the information available, he built a house in Sultanganj several years ago, where his family currently resides.
After receiving information that his sons had been detained, Sub-Inspector Uday Yadav contacted the police.
The police are investigating the allegations made by the student, while both brothers remain under detention as questioning continues.
What Police Said About Bhagalpur Case
Station House Officer Dhananjay Kumar said the detained accused is being interrogated. Law and Order Sadar DSP Navneet Kumar said an FIR will be registered in the case and that legal action will be taken.
The investigation is also examining the criminal background of the accused and his elder brother.
According to the information that emerged during the case, Kamlesh was allegedly attacked by criminals two years ago. His throat was reportedly slit and he was left in front of his house. He survived after receiving treatment.
His elder brother Durgesh also has criminal cases registered against him, according to the information provided.
The police investigation will determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction, the allegations made by the student and the events that followed.
