The bodies were recovered after neighbours alerted authorities about a foul smell emanating from the locked residence.
The incident came to light late on Friday after neighbours noticed a foul smell coming from the locked house and alerted the police. Officers subsequently entered the residence and recovered the bodies.
Five Family Members Found Dead in Raipur House
The deceased have been identified as Sajid Ali (50), his wife Rabia Bano (45), their son Irshad Ali (20), and daughters Shahida Begum (15) and Irshaba Parveen (12).
According to police, family members had also been unable to contact the occupants for some time. After receiving the information, officers forced open the door and discovered the bodies inside the residence.
"Police have initiated a detailed investigation, and the exact cause of death will be established after forensic and post-mortem reports are received."
Police Examining Multiple Angles in Mass Deaths
Investigators said they are examining all possible angles as part of the inquiry. Preliminary findings are being verified, and officials have not reached a final conclusion regarding the sequence of events.
Police are also collecting evidence from the scene, recording statements from relatives and neighbours, and analysing digital and financial records that may assist the investigation.

A forensic team and senior police officials inspected the house after the bodies were recovered.
The residence has been secured for investigation, and forensic experts are examining physical evidence collected from the scene. Officials said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
