Bengaluru: A 20-year-old paramedical student was found dead in a decomposed state at his residence near Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru, nearly three days after his suspected suicide. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Uday, a student pursuing paramedical studies at KC General Hospital. Alongside his studies, he was reportedly working part-time at a Bata showroom.
Bengaluru Student Found Dead Inside Locked Room
According to police, Uday had been staying in a separate room constructed on the upper floor of his family's house by his parents, Suresh and Premalatha.
Investigators said the student was found hanging inside the room. However, the incident remained unnoticed for nearly three days until family members detected a foul smell emanating from the room.
After checking the room, relatives discovered the body in a decomposed state and immediately informed the police.
"Police have begun a detailed investigation, and the exact cause behind the incident will be determined after completing all legal procedures."
Police Probe Circumstances Behind Death
Officers from the Madanayakanahalli Police Station reached the spot soon after receiving information and conducted a preliminary inspection.
The body was shifted to the Nelamangala mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Police have registered a case and are investigating all possible angles to establish the circumstances leading to the student's death.
Online Gaming Angle Under Investigation
Preliminary information indicates that Uday was reportedly addicted to online gaming. However, investigators have not established any direct link between this information and the cause of death.
Officials said the exact reason behind the incident can only be determined after the investigation is completed and supporting evidence is examined.
"Authorities have urged against speculation, stating that the investigation is ongoing and conclusions will be drawn only after all evidence is analysed."
Police are recording statements from family members and examining relevant evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
