A 28-year-old Bengaluru resident died after reportedly suffering a suspected heart attack during a trip to Kodachadri in Shivamogga district. The incident occurred while he was staying with friends in Kattinahole village before their planned trek to the hill peak. Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.
Shivamogga: A leisure trip to the scenic Kodachadri hills ended in tragedy after a 28-year-old man from Bengaluru allegedly suffered a heart attack and died before he could receive medical treatment in Shivamogga district.
The deceased has been identified as Shrikanth (28), a resident of Bengaluru, who had travelled to Kodachadri along with three friends for a weekend excursion.
Health Emergency During Kodachadri Trip
According to police, Shrikanth and his friends reached Kattinahole village near Sampekatte in Hosanagara taluk on Friday and stayed at the residence of a friend.
The group had planned to leave for the Kodachadri peak on Saturday morning.
However, during the night, Shrikanth reportedly experienced a sudden health emergency and collapsed.
"Friends immediately rushed him to a nearby government hospital after he complained of a sudden health issue," police said.
Doctors Declare Youth Dead
His friends immediately shifted him to the Hosanagara Government Hospital for emergency treatment.
Doctors, however, declared that he had died before reaching the hospital. Preliminary information indicates that the cause of death is suspected to be a heart attack, though the exact cause will be confirmed after the completion of legal and medical procedures.
Police Register Case
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and initiated an investigation.
Authorities said the body has been subjected to the required legal formalities, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation and medical examination.
"The exact cause of death will be confirmed following the completion of the investigation and medical examination," officials said.
The tragic incident has cast a shadow over what was intended to be a recreational trip to one of Karnataka's popular trekking destinations.
