Faridabad Pregnant Woman Murder Investigation Reveals Disturbing Allegations
According to investigators, the victim, Neha Kumari, was allegedly killed on Thursday after her husband forced her head into a bucket filled with water, resulting in her death.
Police said Amit Gupta worked as a graphic designer in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar and would allegedly lock the main gate of the house from the outside every morning before leaving for work.
Investigators believe the victim remained confined inside the house for nearly 10 hours each day, allegedly preventing her from leaving the residence or interacting with others.
"Police allege the accused routinely locked his pregnant wife inside the house while he was at work due to suspicions about her character."
Neighbours Say Victim Was Frequently Locked Inside the House
Residents living nearby reportedly told investigators that Neha was often seen remaining inside the house throughout the day.
According to police, she rarely stepped outside on her own and did not approach the police or any women's assistance organisations regarding her situation.
Investigators are examining whether the alleged confinement had been continuing for an extended period before the incident.
Marriage Took Place in April 2025, Family Alleges Dowry Harassment
According to the victim's family, Neha married Amit Gupta on April 30, 2025.

The family has also alleged that Amit repeatedly demanded an air conditioner and other household items as dowry.
"The victim's family alleged that the accused had been demanding dowry and frequently harassed Neha after their marriage."
Victim Spoke to Sister Before Alleged Murder
Police said that on the morning of the incident, Neha reportedly telephoned her sister and spoke about ongoing domestic disputes and financial difficulties.
Investigators further stated that shortly after the alleged murder, the accused is believed to have informed one of his uncles that he had killed his wife.
When family members reached the house, they allegedly found Neha dead inside the residence.
