CBSE will close CTET September 2026 registrations on June 10, while the teacher eligibility exam is scheduled for September 6 across 132 cities
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the online application process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 session on June 10 at 11:59 PM. Candidates who have not yet completed their registration have been advised to submit their applications through the official CTET portal before the deadline.
The board opened the CTET 2026 registration window on May 11 and is set to conduct the examination on September 6, 2026, at examination centres across the country. CBSE has also indicated that the test may be held on September 5 if the number of applicants exceeds expectations.
CTET 2026 Registration Deadline Nears
With only a short time remaining before the registration deadline, candidates aspiring to become eligible for teaching positions in schools are encouraged to complete the application process without delay.
The eligibility criteria for CTET are determined by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Applicants must carefully review the prescribed qualifications and ensure they meet all eligibility requirements before submitting their forms.
CBSE has advised candidates to verify every detail entered in the application form to avoid discrepancies during later stages of the examination process.
"Candidates should confirm their eligibility and submit applications before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues."
CTET 2026 Exam Scheduled in 132 Cities
The 22nd edition of CTET will be conducted in 132 examination cities across India. The examination serves as a key eligibility test for candidates seeking teaching positions in Central Government schools and several other educational institutions.
CBSE has clarified that applicants will not be allowed to choose their preferred examination city while completing the online application process.
Instead, examination centres will be allotted through a random allocation process conducted by the board.
No Requests for Exam City Change
The board has clearly stated that requests for changing the allotted examination city will not be entertained under any circumstances.
Candidates are therefore advised to carefully consider their application details and remain prepared to appear at the examination centre assigned by CBSE.
The board's decision aims to streamline the allocation process and ensure fair distribution of candidates across available examination centres.
