Chikkaballapur: A 24-year-old woman allegedly attempted suicide by consuming poison while travelling on a moving Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in Chikkaballapur district. The incident created panic among passengers, but the swift response of the driver and conductor ensured that she received immediate medical treatment.
The woman, identified as Nirmala, a resident of Halaganahalli village in Chikkaballapur district, was rushed to a nearby private hospital after passengers noticed her condition deteriorating during the journey.
Woman Falls Ill After Consuming Poison on KSRTC Bus
According to preliminary information, Nirmala boarded a KSRTC bus at the Devanahalli bus stand and was travelling when she allegedly consumed poison while seated inside the vehicle.
The bus was carrying 48 passengers at the time of the incident. Soon after, fellow passengers observed that the woman was unwell and alerted the bus crew.
Realising the seriousness of the situation, the driver and conductor immediately took steps to ensure she received emergency medical assistance.

KSRTC Driver and Conductor Rush Woman to Hospital

Doctors provided immediate medical care, and reports indicate that Nirmala later regained consciousness.

To minimise inconvenience to other travellers, KSRTC officials arranged an alternative bus for the remaining passengers after the woman was safely shifted to the hospital.
