School Education Department seals Bengaluru institution and warns parents against fresh admissions for 2026-27
Bengaluru: The Karnataka Department of School Education has officially shut down Samar International Islamic School in Thanisandra after cancelling the institution’s recognition under provisions of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983. In a major administrative action, officials pasted a public notice at the school entrance warning parents and guardians not to admit students to the institution for the 2026-27 academic year.
Heavy police security was deployed at the school premises during the operation as authorities formally announced the closure of the institution. The action comes following multiple departmental orders, court references, and regulatory proceedings linked to the school’s recognition status.
Karnataka School Education Department Action Against Samar International Islamic School
According to the notice issued by the Department of School Education, the recognition granted to Classes 1 to 10 of Samar International Islamic School has been withdrawn under Section 39 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983. Additionally, the institution’s registration has been cancelled under Section 34 of the same Act.
The notice referred to the department order issued on April 10 this year, the Karnataka High Court order dated May 30, 2025, along with related circulars, judgments, and administrative directives. Officials stated that the closure was implemented as per the directions of the Director of the School Education Department.
Admissions Banned for Academic Year 2026-27
The department clearly instructed the school management not to conduct admissions for the upcoming academic year. Authorities warned parents and the general public against enrolling children in the institution after the cancellation of recognition.
Officials stated that the department had already issued its final order on May 13, following which strict directions were communicated to the management regarding admissions and academic operations.
“Students should not be admitted to the institution for the academic year 2026-27 as the school recognition and registration stand cancelled.”
Student Records Ordered to Be Transferred Online
To avoid disruption in students’ education, the School Education Department directed that all academic records of enrolled students be digitally transferred to the respective schools where students would continue their studies.
Officials said the online transfer process has been initiated to ensure continuity in education and to minimize academic inconvenience for students and parents affected by the closure.
Police Security Deployed During School Closure
Authorities maintained tight police security near the school premises while the notice was pasted publicly at the entrance. The department’s move effectively sealed the institution’s operations, bringing the prolonged recognition dispute to a close.
The closure of Samar International Islamic School has triggered discussion among parents and local residents in Thanisandra, with many seeking clarity regarding student transfers and future admissions.
