Police bust alleged espionage network accused of installing CCTV cameras near sensitive military routes
New Delhi: Security agencies have reportedly arrested an accused involved in an alleged espionage network that installed CCTV cameras along highways and near sensitive locations to share live updates related to Indian military movement with handlers linked to Pakistan.
According to reports circulating across several Kannada news channels and national media platforms, investigators suspect the accused and his associates used strategically placed surveillance cameras to monitor movement near defence-sensitive areas. Authorities believe the live footage and location-based information were allegedly passed on to contacts across the border.
The case has triggered major concern among intelligence agencies as investigators examine whether the surveillance network was part of a larger operation targeting India’s defence infrastructure and troop movement.
Pakistan Spy Network Investigation
Initial investigation reports suggest multiple CCTV cameras were allegedly installed near highways, sensitive routes, and strategic areas under the guise of regular surveillance systems. Authorities suspect these devices were being used to gather real-time visuals and movement patterns linked to military activity.
Security agencies have reportedly intensified searches and interrogations to identify possible links between the arrested accused and other individuals connected to the suspected espionage operation.
Several reports also claimed that investigators are examining digital evidence, CCTV data transfers, communication records, and financial transactions associated with the accused.
“Sensitive information linked to military movement may have been shared through live surveillance systems,” investigators reportedly stated during the probe.
Army Movement Surveillance Allegations
accused allegedly exploited publicly accessible surveillance infrastructure and communication technology to monitor strategic activities. Intelligence officials are now reviewing whether additional locations were compromised.
Authorities have not yet released complete operational details due to national security concerns. However, agencies confirmed that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in activities threatening India’s internal security and defence systems.
The incident has once again raised concerns about unauthorised surveillance devices and misuse of digital monitoring systems near defence establishments.
Security Agencies On High Alert
Following the arrest, intelligence and police agencies have reportedly increased monitoring of suspicious surveillance installations across several states. Investigators are also verifying whether more individuals were involved in setting up or operating the alleged network.
National security experts have stressed the importance of stricter verification and regulation of surveillance equipment installed near sensitive zones, highways, and military-linked routes.
