A speeding truck crashed into a Tata Magic on NH-730 in Uttar Pradesh, leaving 10 dead and two critically injured in a devastating highway collision


Kheri: A devastating road accident on National Highway 730 in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri claimed the lives of at least 10 people after a speeding truck collided head-on with a Tata Magic vehicle on Monday. The horrific crash took place between Unchgaon and Bharehta villages under the Isanagar police station limits, triggering panic and chaos in the area.


According to preliminary information, the victims were travelling in the Tata Magic vehicle from Lakhimpur towards Sisaia when a truck coming from the Bahraich side allegedly lost control and rammed into the passenger vehicle with massive force. The impact of the collision was so severe that several passengers died instantly on the spot.


NH-730 Lakhimpur Kheri Accident Leaves Multiple Dead

Police officials confirmed that around 10 passengers travelling in the Tata Magic vehicle lost their lives in the tragic collision, while two others sustained serious injuries. Locals rushed to the accident site soon after hearing the loud impact and informed the police and emergency services.


The injured victims were immediately shifted to a nearby government hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment. Authorities fear the death toll could rise depending on the condition of the critically injured passengers.

“The collision was extremely severe. Rescue operations were launched immediately after police reached the spot,” officials said during the initial investigation.

Truck and Tata Magic Head-On Collision Sparks Rescue Operation

After receiving information about the accident, police teams from the Isanagar police station reached the spot and launched rescue and clearance operations on the highway. Damaged vehicles were removed from the road to restore traffic movement on NH-730.


Initial reports suggest that overspeeding may have caused the fatal accident, although authorities are conducting a detailed investigation to determine the exact reason behind the collision. Bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination as grieving family members gathered at the scene.
