Minor motorcycle collision turns deadly in Kanpur as violent clash leaves two dead and one critically injured
Kanpur: A shocking road rage incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district turned fatal after a minor motorcycle collision allegedly escalated into a violent clash, resulting in the deaths of a father and his son while another family member sustained critical injuries.
According to police officials, the incident occurred late Sunday night near Vrindavan Guest House on the Yashoda Nagar bypass in the Naubasta area of Kanpur.
The deceased have been identified as Shiv Narayan Trivedi, 60, and his son Shivam Trivedi, 25. Another son, Satyam Trivedi, 30, suffered severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in critical condition.
Kanpur Road Rage Incident Triggered After Motorcycle Collision
Police said Shiv Narayan Trivedi and his two sons were returning home to the Sajari area in Chakeri after completing work at a marble shop in Kidwai Nagar when their motorcycle allegedly collided with another bike carrying three youths.
What initially appeared to be a minor traffic accident reportedly escalated into a heated confrontation within moments. Authorities stated that an argument broke out between the two groups following the collision, eventually turning violent.
The clash allegedly involved physical assault, leading to severe injuries to the father and his sons.
Locals who witnessed the fight alerted police and emergency responders after the situation spiralled out of control near the busy bypass road.
“A minor collision appears to have escalated into a deadly altercation,” police officials said during the preliminary investigation.
Father and Son Die While Another Family Member Battles for Life
All three injured family members were rushed for medical treatment immediately after the incident. However, doctors declared Shiv Narayan Trivedi and Shivam Trivedi dead due to the seriousness of their injuries.
Satyam Trivedi remains under intensive medical care as authorities continue to monitor his condition.
The brutal nature of the clash has triggered outrage among local residents, with many expressing concern over the growing number of violent road rage incidents in urban areas.
