Jharkhand Police solve Deoghar murder case within 48 hours after the accused husband allegedly confesses to the brutal attack
Deoghar: A shocking murder case from Deoghar has surfaced after a man was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife on suspicion of an extramarital relationship. Police claimed the accused husband brutally attacked the woman with a spade and brick after allegedly seeing her with another man late at night.
The sensational case, which has triggered widespread discussion in the region, was solved by police within 48 hours after the blood-soaked body of the woman was discovered inside a tea stall on Karnibag Main Road under the limits of the Nagar police station area.
The deceased woman was identified as Mala Devi. Following the discovery of the body on May 19, police launched an intensive investigation and later arrested the accused husband, identified as Shibu Yadav.
According to investigators, the accused initially attempted to mislead police during questioning before eventually confessing to the murder during sustained interrogation.
Deoghar Police Solve Murder Case Within 48 Hours
After the incident came to light, a special investigation team was reportedly formed under the supervision of the district police authorities due to the seriousness of the crime.
Police officials stated that technical evidence, local intelligence and questioning of people close to the victim helped investigators narrow suspicion toward the husband.
During interrogation, Shibu Yadav allegedly informed police that frequent disputes had taken place between him and his wife over her alleged relationship with one of his friends, reportedly a Toto driver.
Investigators said the ongoing domestic conflict had intensified over time, leading the couple to live separately. Mala Devi had reportedly been staying at her tea stall located in the Karnibag area.
“The accused confessed that he attacked the victim in a fit of rage after allegedly seeing her with another man,” police officials stated during the investigation briefing.
Accused Allegedly Attacked Wife With Spade and Brick
According to police, the accused claimed that on the night of the murder he allegedly saw his wife in a compromising situation with her alleged lover. Enraged by the scene, he reportedly attacked her repeatedly using a spade and a brick before fleeing the spot.
Officials stated that based on the accused’s confession, investigators recovered the alleged murder weapon, including the spade, a blood-stained brick and the victim’s mobile phone.
Kuldeep Kumar confirmed that further investigation into the case remains ongoing and additional evidence is being examined.
Police are also reportedly investigating whether any other individuals had knowledge of the incident or events leading up to the crime.
Illicit Relationship Murders Raise Concern in Jharkhand
The case has once again highlighted the growing number of violent crimes linked to relationship disputes and suspicions of extramarital affairs across Jharkhand.
In recent months, several similar cases involving domestic conflicts, betrayal and revenge killings have surfaced from different parts of the state, raising concerns among law enforcement agencies and social observers.
Authorities stated that legal proceedings against the accused husband are currently underway.
