Patient alleges doctor collected Rs 37,000 for shoulder operation without performing surgery at private hospital in Bidar
Bidar: Serious allegations of medical fraud have surfaced against a private hospital in Bidar after a patient claimed doctors charged him Rs 37,000 for a shoulder surgery that was allegedly never performed.
The shocking accusation has triggered outrage in the region after a scan report reportedly revealed that no surgical rod had been inserted despite doctors informing the patient that an operation had been successfully completed following a road accident injury.
The incident allegedly took place at Sedankar Hospital in Mannakheli village of Bidar taluk.
Bidar Fake Surgery Allegation Sparks Public Outrage
According to the complaint, the victim, identified as Prajwal from Basalapur village, suffered a fractured shoulder bone in a road accident and later approached the hospital for treatment.
Doctors at the hospital allegedly informed the family that immediate surgery was necessary and claimed that a metal rod needed to be inserted to stabilise the fractured bone. The family reportedly paid Rs 37,000 for the procedure.
However, allegations now suggest that no operation was actually performed and that only external bandaging was done on the injured arm.
“We trusted the doctors and paid the money believing the surgery had been completed,” family members reportedly alleged.
Scan Report Allegedly Revealed No Surgery Was Performed
The controversy escalated after Prajwal reportedly continued experiencing severe shoulder pain even after the supposed operation. Concerned over the persistent discomfort, the family later opted for a scan at another medical facility.
According to allegations made by the family, the scan report revealed that the fractured shoulder bone remained untreated and no rod had been inserted during the alleged surgery.
The revelation left the patient and relatives shocked, leading to accusations that the hospital had misled them and collected money fraudulently in the name of surgery.
Medical Negligence Allegations Against Mannakheli Hospital
The incident has sparked widespread anger among locals, with many demanding strict action against the hospital and the doctors involved if the allegations are proven true.
Residents and social activists have called for a detailed medical inquiry into the case, stating that such incidents damage public trust in the healthcare system and put patients’ lives at risk.
The allegations have also reignited discussions around medical ethics, accountability in private healthcare institutions, and the need for stricter monitoring of rural hospitals.
Authorities Yet to Respond Officially
As public outrage continues to grow, officials are expected to examine the medical records, scan reports, and treatment procedures linked to the case.
No official statement has yet been released by the hospital management regarding the allegations.
Further investigation is likely to determine whether medical negligence, fraud, or procedural lapses were involved in the treatment provided to the patient.
