According to family and official sources, the senior police officer breathed her last at approximately 2:30 PM on Friday, sending shockwaves across the police department and administrative circles.
Lavanya’s passing has created a wave of grief among colleagues, officials, and those who had worked closely with her during his policing career. Known for her disciplined approach, administrative sharpness, and commitment to public service, SP B.N. Lavanya served in multiple key departments across Karnataka and earned respect within the force.

The late officer is survived by her family, including her 10-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter. Family members, friends, and fellow officers gathered in Bengaluru following the tragic news, remembering him not just as an officer but as a committed family man and dedicated public servant.

Originally hailing from Doddaganjur village in Chintamani taluk of Chikkaballapur district, Lavanya built an impactful career in the police department. Since 2023, she had been serving in various senior-level responsibilities, contributing significantly to law enforcement and internal administration.
Served in Key Police Departments
During her distinguished tenure, Lavanya served as Additional Superintendent of Police in both Mandya and Ballari districts. She also held important assignments in Bengaluru, including roles in the Intelligence Bureau and DCRE. Her contribution as SP of the DCRE division was particularly noted for operational efficiency and leadership.
