Nursing graduate approaches police after husband allegedly abandons her two months after a Snapchat love marriage
Bengaluru: A relationship that reportedly began on Snapchat and ended in just two months after marriage has come under police attention near Nelamangala town.
A young nursing graduate has approached Madanayakanahalli Police Station seeking justice after alleging that her husband abandoned her shortly after their marriage, following repeated family disputes.
The incident has sparked discussions around social media relationships, emotional compatibility, and rising marital conflicts among young couples.
Snapchat Friendship Turned Into Love Marriage
According to reports, the woman, who had completed nursing studies and reportedly lost both parents at a young age, became acquainted with a man identified as Chetan through Snapchat nearly one-and-a-half years ago.
Chetan, a resident of Ravuthanahalli in Bengaluru North taluk and an employee at a private company, allegedly developed a close relationship with the woman over time.
Their online friendship reportedly turned into a serious relationship, eventually leading to marriage around two months ago despite the woman’s difficult personal circumstances.
“The relationship began through social media and quickly turned into marriage after a long period of interaction,” sources familiar with the case said.
Family Disputes Allegedly Led to Marital Breakdown
According to the complaint, disagreements reportedly started emerging within days of the marriage.
The woman alleged that Chetan frequently accused her of not showing proper respect towards his parents, leading to repeated arguments inside the house.
Over time, the disputes allegedly intensified, after which the husband reportedly distanced himself and informed her that he no longer wished to continue the relationship.
The woman, now emotionally distressed and without family support, approached the police station requesting intervention and reconciliation with her husband.
Police Begin Counselling Efforts in Nelamangala Case
Police officials have reportedly registered the complaint and initiated counselling procedures involving both husband and wife in an attempt to resolve the matter.
The case has drawn public attention as another example of relationships formed through social media platforms facing difficulties after marriage.
Experts often note that while online platforms help people connect easily, emotional compatibility, family expectations, and communication challenges continue to play a major role in sustaining long-term relationships.
Social Media Relationships Under Public Spotlight
The incident has once again triggered debate around the growing influence of social media apps on modern relationships and marriages among young adults.
Counsellors and family experts stress that mutual understanding, emotional maturity, and family adjustment remain essential for marital stability regardless of how relationships begin.
Police are expected to continue counselling sessions before taking further legal steps in the matter.
