Mangli and Brother Booked After Complaint Claims Microfinance Scam, Investor Losses and Threats Over Money Demand
Hyderabad: Popular playback singer Mangli has landed in major controversy after a police case was reportedly registered against her and her brother over alleged Rs10 crore financial fraud and intimidation claims. The complaint was filed at Panjagutta Police Station, creating a storm across the entertainment industry.
According to the complaint, Mangli and her brother allegedly collected large sums of money from multiple individuals in the name of a microfinance investment scheme. Investors were reportedly promised high returns and attractive profits, leading many people to contribute funds.
Sources in the complaint claim that nearly 100 people invested money, and the total alleged fraud amount could be around Rs10 crore.
No Returns, No Principal Amount Returned
Complainants have alleged that even after the promised deadline passed, neither profits nor the original invested amount was returned. This reportedly led several affected investors to seek legal assistance.
Victims are said to have approached advocate Subbarao for support in recovering the money.
The complaint alleges that when repayment was demanded, threats were issued instead of a settlement.
Threat Allegations Add Serious Twist
The complaint further states that when advocate Subbarao contacted the accused regarding repayment, Mangli and her brother Shiva allegedly threatened him. This accusation has added a serious criminal angle to the financial dispute.
Police Register Case Under Relevant Sections
Based on the complaint, police have reportedly registered a case against Mangli, her brother, and others under applicable legal sections. Further investigation is expected to determine the authenticity of the allegations and financial transactions involved.
