Amid murder case controversy, missing former aide resurfaces, cites personal losses, calls press meet, may reveal key details linked to Darshan
Bengaluru: In a dramatic twist linked to the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case, the ‘missing’ former manager of actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, Mallikarjuna Sankanagowda, has resurfaced after years, putting an end to widespread speculation and conspiracy theories.
Mallikarjuna, whose sudden disappearance had triggered intense debate and even fears of foul play, has now clarified that he had voluntarily left Bengaluru due to personal setbacks and financial losses. His reappearance comes at a crucial time when the murder case continues to dominate headlines.
He has also announced a press conference on April 16 (Today), where he is expected to speak about his future plans and may address his past association with Darshan.
Mystery Around Disappearance Finally Cleared
Mallikarjuna’s absence had raised serious concerns, especially after Darshan’s arrest in the Renukaswamy case, when several voices demanded a probe into his disappearance.
Speculation ranged from business disputes to possible criminal links. However, the latest development has now shifted the narrative entirely, as Mallikarjuna himself dismissed all such claims.
“Due to some unavoidable reasons, personal problems and losses in the industry, I had to temporarily leave Bengaluru,” he said in an official statement.
Background in Film Industry
Originally from Gadag, Mallikarjuna Sankanagowda has nearly 18 years of experience in the Kannada film industry, working as an assistant director, co-director, producer, and distributor.
He was also associated with actor Yash’s film Modala Sala and is believed to have been involved in the hotel business. Over time, he became a close associate and manager to Darshan before disappearing from public view.
Link to Case Keeps Spotlight Intact
Mallikarjuna’s name resurfaced during discussions around the Renukaswamy case, intensifying calls for an investigation into his whereabouts.
Now that he has reappeared, attention has shifted to what he might reveal, particularly regarding his alleged connections, if any, to the ongoing case and his sudden exit from Bengaluru.
Press Conference May Reveal More
In a circular issued ahead of his interaction with the media, Mallikarjuna stated that he would soon address the public about his future plans after years of absence.
Observers believe the press meet could go beyond personal clarification and may include key revelations related to the controversy, keeping both the public and investigators on edge.
The development has resolved one mystery but has also raised fresh questions in an already sensitive case, ensuring that the spotlight remains firmly on the unfolding events.
Background of the Renukaswamy Murder Case
The Renukaswamy murder case refers to the shocking incident of June 2024, in which 33-year-old Renukaswamy was allegedly abducted, tortured, and killed in Bengaluru. According to police investigations, Kannada actor Darshan, his partner Pavithra Gowda, and around 15 associates were accused of being involved in the crime. Reports suggest that Renukaswamy was targeted after allegedly sending obscene messages to Gowda on social media. Police findings revealed that the victim suffered 39 external injuries before his death. The case led to multiple arrests and triggered a nationwide debate on celebrity influence, fan obsession, and alleged misuse of power, with the trial continuing as one of the most high-profile criminal proceedings in Karnataka.
