A female monkey entered a home in Charthawal and stayed beside a three-month-old baby for nearly two hours before rescuers safely recovered the child

Muzaffarnagar: A tense and unusual rescue unfolded in Charthawal town after a monkey entered a house and remained with a three-month-old baby, causing panic among family members and neighbours.

The incident reportedly lasted for nearly two hours before the infant was safely rescued without injury.

Monkey Entered Home Quietly
According to local reports, the baby was sleeping on a bed in the family home when a female monkey is said to have entered through the roof area during the afternoon.

When the child’s mother returned to the room, she reportedly found the monkey sitting near the infant and touching the baby.

The sight alarmed the family and drew neighbours to the scene.
“Everyone was frightened and afraid to move closer.”
Crowd Gathers, Rescue Becomes Delicate
Witnesses said the monkey became agitated when people approached, making it difficult for anyone to safely retrieve the child.
Animal rescuer Sunny Chopra was then called to help.
Food attempts reportedly failed, and rescuers had to avoid sudden movement to keep the infant safe.

Smart Rescue Using Mobile Phone Video
Rescuers then used an unusual method by showing monkey videos on a mobile phone to distract the animal.

Once the monkey focused on the screen, the rescue team carefully removed the baby and handed the child back to the family.
The infant was reported to be safe.
Residents described the safe recovery of the child as a huge relief after hours of tension.
