Panama City: A major explosion involving fuel tankers near the Pacific entrance of the Panama Canal has left four people injured and one person missing, officials confirmed. The incident occurred close to the iconic Bridge of the Americas, a critical roadway connecting key parts of the country.
According to fire department officials, the explosion took place in the La Boca area of Balboa, located in the western part of Panama City. At least three fuel tankers caught fire and exploded, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky and triggering panic in the surrounding region.
Injuries and One Missing
Emergency responders reported that four individuals sustained injuries, while one person remains unaccounted for, raising fears of a possible fatality. Rescue and search operations are currently underway.
