Koppal: A case in Karnataka’s Koppal district has triggered debate after claims emerged that police recovered more than 9,000 videos and over 7,000 photographs from the mobile phone of a man identified as Mustafa Khadri, yet no arrest has been made so far. The matter, described by some complainants as a “love jihad” case, remains under investigation, while opposition leaders have raised questions over police action.
The allegations have intensified after social media clips purportedly showing the accused consuming hookah and ganja circulated online. Critics claim that despite these materials surfacing, police have so far limited action to issuing a notice and calling for questioning.
Phone Data and Delay Raise Questions
According to claims made in the case, investigators examined the accused’s mobile phone and found a large volume of objectionable content. Reports state the device allegedly contained thousands of videos and images, which has now become the center of public discussion.
Despite the seriousness of the allegations, no immediate custodial action has been confirmed. This has led to criticism from sections of the public and political circles.
“If evidence exists, why has no arrest happened yet?” opposition voices asked while demanding transparency in the probe.
Political Allegations Against Government
BJP leader Basavaraj Kyavator issued a statement accusing the ruling establishment of influencing the investigation. He alleged that pressure from influential elected representatives in the district was preventing police from arresting the accused.
Kyavator further questioned why stronger action had not followed despite the alleged digital evidence and viral videos. Authorities have not publicly responded to the political allegations.
Police Yet to Clarify Full Status
As of now, police have not released a detailed public statement confirming the total data recovered from the phone or explaining the timeline of further action. Officials have yet to clarify whether forensic verification of the seized device has been completed.
The complaint was reportedly filed two days ago, and the absence of an arrest has added to public scrutiny. Many are now asking whether the investigation is proceeding normally or is facing external influence.
Case Under Watch in Koppal
With political accusations growing and questions over enforcement increasing, the Koppal case is now drawing attention across Karnataka. Further police clarification is expected in the coming days.
