Government bus from Ballari to Bengaluru overturns near Heggere village, several passengers injured, police launch investigation
Chitradurga: A Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) bus carrying 44 passengers overturned on Tuesday morning near Heggere village in Challakere taluk of Chitradurga district, narrowly avoiding a major tragedy.
The government-operated bus was en route from Ballari to Bengaluru when the accident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Challakere police station.
Authorities confirmed that the injuries are not life-threatening, and all passengers were rescued safely from the overturned vehicle.
Despite the severity of the incident, a major disaster was averted due to what officials described as a timely response and possibly moderate speed.
“A major tragedy was avoided as most passengers escaped with minor injuries.”
