Raghav Chadha rejects allegations by Aam Aadmi Party leadership, calls claims ‘false’ and an ‘organised campaign’ against him
New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Saturday asserted that his focus in Parliament is to “make an impact, not to create a ruckus,” as he strongly refuted allegations levelled against him by leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party. He termed the accusations “false” and part of an “organised campaign” aimed at targeting him.
Chadha Calls Walkout Allegation a ‘Pure Lie’
Responding to claims that he did not participate in an Opposition walkout, Chadha categorically denied the charge, calling it a “pure lie.” The allegation was raised by AAP president Saurabh Bhardwaj, who accused Chadha of not adhering to the party line on multiple issues and skipping key parliamentary protests.
“I challenge anyone to name even a single instance where I was not present or did not participate. Parliament proceedings are recorded on CCTV cameras,” Chadha said.
CEC Resolution Row: ‘No One Asked Me to Sign’
Chadha also dismissed allegations that he refused to sign a resolution concerning the Chief Election Commissioner. He clarified that no party leader had approached him, either formally or informally, regarding the matter. He further pointed out that several other MPs from the party also did not sign the resolution, questioning why he was being singled out.
Focus on Public Issues, Not Disruptions
Emphasising his parliamentary priorities, Chadha said his role is to raise critical public concerns rather than engage in disruptions. He listed key issues including GST, income tax, Delhi’s air pollution, Punjab’s water crisis, public healthcare, education, railway passenger concerns, menstrual health, unemployment, and inflation.
“Parliament runs on taxpayers’ money. It is not meant to create noise, but to create impact,” he stated, adding that “every lie will be exposed.”
Political Tensions Intensify Within AAP
The sharp exchange of statements signals growing internal tensions within the AAP, with Chadha taking a firm stand against the leadership’s claims. As the row escalates, it remains to be seen how the party navigates the situation amid increasing public and political scrutiny.
