Ex-corporate professional Rakesh leaves high-paying career for peace, becomes auto driver in Bengaluru, inspiring thousands with powerful mental health comeback
Bengaluru: In a powerful story that is challenging conventional ideas of success, a Bengaluru man has walked away from a high-paying corporate career to embrace a life of peace, purpose, and self-discovery, inspiring thousands across social media.
Rakesh, who once worked with global giants like Apple and leading financial institutions, had what many would consider a dream lifestyle, complete with financial stability and professional prestige. However, behind the success, he was battling a deep sense of emotional emptiness and mental distress.
“I had everything, but no peace. I was constantly trying to please others and slowly lost myself,” Rakesh said.
His struggles intensified on the personal front, leading to strained relationships and emotional breakdowns. He eventually sought treatment at reputed institutions like NIMHANS and Victoria Hospital, relying on antidepressants during a difficult phase.
“There were days I would sit for hours, lost in the same thoughts. I had shut myself away from the world,” he recalled.
Simultaneously, he focused on physical transformation. Through intermittent fasting, he lost 15 kg and trained in martial arts disciplines like Muay Thai and Ju-Jitsu, eventually winning a state-level silver medal, marking a significant comeback in his journey.
For him, these experiences were not setbacks but lessons in humility and resilience.
“Every job taught me something. It gave me dignity, discipline, and strength,” he said.
Rather than chasing titles or salaries, Rakesh’s journey highlights a powerful message: true success lies in inner peace, self-respect, and purpose.
