Massive Procession, Patriotic Chants Mark Emotional Return of Soldier Jagadish to Gummaghatta Village in Pavagada Taluk
Tumakuru: In a powerful display of patriotism and community pride, residents of Gummaghatta village in Pavagada taluk of Tumakuru district gave a grand and emotional welcome to retired Indian Army soldier Jagadish, celebrating his return after years of dedicated service guarding the nation’s borders.
Jagadish, who served across multiple sectors in India as part of the Indian Army, arrived in his native village on Saturday following his retirement. His homecoming quickly turned into a large-scale celebration, with villagers gathering in huge numbers to honor their local hero.
Spectacular Procession Through Village Streets
The village witnessed a vibrant and spirited procession, as youths and elders assembled at the entrance to receive Jagadish with flower garlands, slogans, and cheers. The procession moved through the main streets of Gummaghatta, creating an atmosphere charged with national pride and emotion.
Women welcomed the soldier by performing traditional Aarati rituals, while patriotic songs filled the air. Chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” echoed across the village, reflecting the deep respect and admiration for his service.
“It is a matter of immense pride for us that a son of our soil has returned safely after serving the nation. He is a true inspiration for the younger generation,” village elders said.
Emotional Felicitation Ceremony
Following the grand procession, a formal felicitation ceremony was organised where Jagadish was honoured with a traditional shawl and memento as a mark of gratitude for his service.
Addressing the gathering, an emotional Jagadish expressed heartfelt gratitude.
“I am deeply touched by the overwhelming love and respect shown by my fellow villagers. Serving the motherland has been the most meaningful phase of my life,” he said.
