Chennai: A bomb threat targeting actor Trisha Krishnan created concern in Chennai after an unidentified caller reportedly claimed explosives had been planted at her residence. Police immediately launched a security response and later confirmed that no bomb or explosive material was found.
The incident occurred at the actor’s residence in Alwarpet, where authorities carried out an intensive search after the warning call.
Threat Call to Control Room Triggered Emergency Response
According to reports, police control room officials received a call from an unknown person stating that a bomb had been placed inside Trisha’s home and would explode shortly.
Following the alert, Teynampet Police moved quickly to the location along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and security personnel.
Police teams then inspected the property thoroughly, checking multiple areas of the residence.
“Every section of the premises was examined as part of standard safety protocol,” sources said.
Search Finds No Explosives
After a prolonged search operation lasting several hours, officers found no explosive devices or suspicious materials.
Police later confirmed the threat was a hoax call, bringing relief to residents and fans who had grown concerned after news of the scare spread.
Authorities have not yet clarified whether Trisha was inside the house at the time or away for a film shoot.
Cyber Crime Team Begins Investigation
Police have now opened an investigation to identify the caller. Officials are working with cybercrime units to trace call records, signal routes, and digital leads linked to the threat.
Investigators are examining whether the caller acted alone or was part of a wider nuisance campaign targeting public figures.
Not the First Celebrity Threat Case
This is not the first time Tamil film celebrities have faced fake bomb threats. In earlier incidents, homes linked to actors such as Rajinikanth, Vijay, Ajith Kumar, and Suriya were also reportedly targeted by similar false alerts.
