Shocking CCTV-captured incident in Reddihalli exposes family feud turning violent, the accused arrested after killing a pet in rage
Devanahalli: In a disturbing incident highlighting escalating family disputes, a man allegedly shot dead his brother’s pet dog in Reddihalli village of Devanahalli taluk, Bengaluru Rural district, following a long-standing property conflict.
The accused, identified as Narayanaswamy, reportedly committed the act in anger against his brother Venkatesh, with whom he had been engaged in a prolonged land dispute.
Property Dispute Turns Violent
According to reports, Narayanaswamy confronted his brother, alleging that the dog frequently entered his farmland where cauliflower was being cultivated. In a fit of rage, he allegedly opened fire on the animal, killing it on the spot.
Sources indicate that the brothers, who are step-siblings, had a history of enmity and frequent quarrels, which escalated into this shocking act.
CCTV Footage Captures Incident
The entire incident was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras, providing crucial evidence for the investigation. The dog succumbed instantly to bullet injuries, and a post-mortem examination was later conducted before its last rites.
Police Action and Arrest
Based on a complaint filed by Venkatesh, a case was registered at Channarayapatna Police Station. Police teams promptly visited the scene and arrested the accused Narayanaswamy.
An FIR has also been registered against Narayanaswamy and his wife, Nagamma, with authorities initiating further legal proceedings.
Public Outrage Over Animal Cruelty
The incident has triggered outrage among locals and animal lovers, with demands for strict action against the accused for killing a defenceless animal over a personal dispute.
Officials stated that the case is being investigated under relevant sections, and appropriate legal action will follow.
