Road Accident Near Sai Service Station Claims Young Life, Family Was Preparing to Return from Dubai to Settle in Udupi


Udupi: In a tragic road accident that has left a family shattered, an 8-year-old girl lost her life after a bus rammed into a scooty from behind near the Sai service station in Kaup, Udupi district. The victim, identified as Satvi Shetty, was travelling with her father when the incident occurred.


According to preliminary reports, a non-stop bus entering the national highway from Kaup service road collided with the scooty carrying Satvi and her father, Nithyananda Shetty. The impact of the crash was severe, causing critical injuries to the young girl.

Despite immediate efforts to provide medical assistance, Satvi succumbed to her injuries, while her father also sustained injuries in the accident.

Victim’s Family in Deep Shock
The tragic incident has deeply affected the family, who had been living in Dubai and were in the process of returning to their native village. The family had already initiated steps to resettle, including securing admission for Satvi in a private school in Udupi.


Nithyananda Shetty was reportedly scheduled to travel back to Dubai the following day. The accident occurred when he had briefly stepped out to Kaup town and was returning home, which was located just half a kilometre from the accident site.


A Journey Cut Short Tragically
What was meant to be a short trip turned fatal within minutes, leaving behind a grieving family. Satvi is survived by her parents and a sibling, who are now coping with an irreparable loss.


Police Register Case, Investigation Underway
The Kaup Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. Authorities are examining the circumstances leading to the collision, including the speed and movement of the bus as it entered the highway.
