Tragic accident at Signature Global Society in Gurugram’s Sidhravali area leaves seven labourers dead and several injured after a wall collapse trapped workers under debris
Gurugram: At least seven construction workers lost their lives after a wall at an under-construction site collapsed in Gurugram, Haryana, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Incident at Construction Site
The fatal accident occurred on Monday evening at the Signature Global Society construction project located in Gurugram’s Sidhravali area. According to officials, the collapse took place while workers were present near the structure during ongoing construction activities.
Authorities said emergency teams and local police rushed to the location soon after the incident was reported.
Workers Trapped Under Debris
Initial reports indicate that around 12 to 15 labourers were trapped beneath the rubble when the wall suddenly collapsed at approximately 8 pm on Monday. Rescue teams launched an immediate operation to pull out the trapped workers.
The injured workers were rushed to a nearby hospital in Bhiwadi, where doctors declared seven labourers dead, officials said.
“Several workers were trapped when the structure collapsed. Rescue teams acted quickly and shifted the injured to the hospital,” a local official involved in the rescue operation stated.
Rescue and Investigation
Local authorities and disaster response teams continued clearing debris to ensure that no additional workers remained trapped. Officials said that an investigation is likely to be initiated to determine the cause of the collapse, including whether construction safety norms were followed at the site.
