A senior doctor dies after 12 years in a coma, while shocking allegations of manipulation, abuse, and threats against a Mysuru-based doctor spark outrage
Mysuru: In a deeply disturbing case emerging from Mysuru, a junior doctor has been accused of trapping women in a web of deceit, emotional manipulation, and alleged abuse, leading to tragic consequences including the death of a senior woman doctor after 12 years in a coma.
According to serious allegations, senior doctor Nagashree, who had been living in a vegetative state for over a decade, passed away recently. She had reportedly fallen victim to her junior, Vinay Kumar S, who allegedly lured her into a relationship under false pretences.
Back in 2014, Vinay allegedly convinced Nagashree to accompany him to a lodge in Srirangapatna, where he staged a joint suicide attempt. He reportedly administered sleeping pills and an overdose injection to her, while pretending to consume the same. However, while he was discharged within a day, Nagashree slipped into a coma never recovering fully until her death 12 years later.
“A Living Corpse for 12 Years” Allegation
The victim’s family had long alleged foul play, questioning how one person could recover overnight while the other remained unconscious for years. Despite early complaints, legal progress remained slow, raising serious concerns about the delivery.
Wife Blows the Whistle on ‘Dark Past’
In a dramatic turn, Vinay’s wife, Yashodha (name changed), has now come forward with explosive allegations. She claims she was unaware of his past before marriage and discovered his abusive behaviour within just 15 days.
She alleged that Vinay subjected her to harassment, threats, and coercion, even allegedly using intimidation tactics to force her into transferring property. Unable to bear the trauma, she left him and filed a complaint.
“I never had a single peaceful day after marriage. I want justice not just for me, but for every woman affected,” she said.
Pattern of Alleged Abuse Emerges
The case has also drawn attention to other alleged victims. Reports suggest that a chartered accountant, Gowthami Hiremath, may have also died under suspicious circumstances linked to the accused, though investigations remain inconclusive.
Legal Battle and Public Outrage Intensify
Initial police reports, including a ‘B-report’ closure in earlier complaints, are now being questioned. Legal experts, including advocate Pandu Poojari, have approached courts seeking justice for the victims’ families and a reinvestigation into the case.
The accused continues to run a clinic in Hunsur Taluk, even as public anger mounts over alleged negligence and delays in action.
Demand for Justice Grows Louder
Citizens and activists are demanding a thorough probe, stricter accountability, and justice for the victims, as this case raises serious questions about safety, ethics, and oversight in the medical profession.
