Pratapgarh: In a sensational and deeply disturbing murder case, a former village head was allegedly killed by his own girlfriend and her accomplices in Pratapgarh, sending shockwaves across the region. The victim, identified as Gulshan, had been missing since March 18, and his body was later recovered from a canal, stuffed inside a sack.

According to police officials, Gulshan was attacked with a rod, suffering fatal injuries to his head. The accused, in an attempt to destroy evidence and conceal the crime, allegedly placed his body in a sack and dumped it into a canal. The shocking discovery of the decomposing body led to the case being escalated into a full-fledged murder investigation.
“The victim sustained severe head injuries caused by a blunt object. The accused attempted to hide the crime by disposing of the body in a canal,” police sources revealed.
Accused Arrested, Hunt for Others Continues
Police have arrested the prime accused, Suman, who was reportedly in a relationship with Gulshan. Authorities stated that she, along with her associates, orchestrated the murder. Efforts are currently underway to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the crime, as the investigation intensifies.
Officials confirmed that a missing person complaint had been filed at the Mandhata Police Station after Gulshan disappeared on March 18. The recovery of his body has now transformed the case into a homicide probe, with multiple angles being examined.
Victim’s Family in Deep Shock
The tragic incident has left Gulshan’s family devastated. A resident of Mishrapur Mustaq village, Gulshan was a former village head and is survived by two wives and 18 children. According to police, he had married twice, his first wife, Kismatul Nisha, has nine children, while his second wife, Ambiya Bano, also has nine children. Both families were reportedly living together.

As police continue their investigation, family members and villagers gathered at the scene, demanding strict action against those responsible for the heinous crime.
