After marrying Farman Khan, viral Kumbh fame Monalisa Bhosle faces controversy, counters accusations with serious claims against filmmaker

Prayagraj: Social media sensation and Kumbh Mela fame Monalisa Bhosle has landed in a major controversy following her marriage to Farman Khan. The issue escalated after filmmaker Sanoj Mishra labelled the marriage as “Love Jihad,” triggering a sharp response from Monalisa, who has now made serious counter-allegations against the director.

Monalisa, who rose to fame overnight during the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, recently married her Muslim partner, Farman Khan. The interfaith marriage quickly became a topic of heated debate online, with director Sanoj Mishra publicly questioning the union and branding it under the controversial “Love Jihad” narrative.

Monalisa Breaks Silence, Denies Allegations
Responding strongly, Monalisa dismissed the claims and clarified that their marriage was conducted in a temple following Hindu traditions, asserting that the accusations are baseless and driven by personal animosity.

Serious Allegations Against Director
In a shocking turn, Monalisa accused Sanoj Mishra of misconduct and inappropriate behaviour, claiming that he allegedly acted inappropriately with minor girls under the pretext of filmmaking. She further alleged that she herself faced harassment during shooting, stating that she was subjected to uncomfortable situations but remained silent at the time, as it was her debut project.
“He is a very disgusting person. Under the name of films, he behaves inappropriately with minor girls. I feel ashamed to even take his name,” Monalisa said.
Harassment Claims During Film Shoot
Monalisa revealed that during the shoot of her debut film, the director allegedly crossed professional boundaries multiple times, making her feel unsafe. She claimed she couldn’t speak out earlier due to a lack of support and fear of consequences.
She also stated that she and her husband are receiving threats, and have sought help from the central government as well as the governments of Kerala and Madhya Pradesh for protection and justice.
Legal Action on the Cards
Monalisa has announced plans to file a police complaint against the director for defamation and harassment, emphasising that false narratives are being spread to damage her reputation.

Rejecting communal narratives, she added that she respects all religions and accused the director of trying to create division and conflict through his statements.
