Bengaluru: The Karnataka Police Department has launched a major recruitment drive, offering fresh hope to lakhs of job-seeking youth across the state. The Karnataka government has announced more than 8,000 vacancies across multiple categories, including Civil Police Constables, Armed Police Constables and Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) personnel.

The large-scale hiring initiative under Karnataka Police Recruitment 2026 is expected to create significant employment opportunities for aspiring candidates who have been waiting for government job notifications.

Massive Recruitment Drive Across Police Department
After job aspirants repeatedly urged the government to fill vacant positions, recruitment notifications are now being released in a phased manner across various departments. Among them, the police recruitment drive has attracted enormous attention, as thousands of unemployed youth have been preparing for these positions for years.
According to official information, the Karnataka Police Department will recruit a total of 8,176 personnel across different ranks. Bengaluru is set to receive the largest share of vacancies, reflecting the increasing demand for police personnel in the state capital.
The recruitment includes positions such as Detective Sub-Inspector (DSI), Armed Police Constable (APC), Civil Police Constable, Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), and Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) constables.

Breakdown of Total Vacancies
The recruitment drive includes 8,176 posts across multiple categories within the Karnataka Police Department.

The vacancies include 20 posts for Detective Sub-Inspector (DSI), 1,650 posts for Armed Police Constables (APC), 4,110 posts for Civil Police Constables, 2,032 posts for Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) personnel, and 364 posts for Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) constables.

This large-scale recruitment initiative is expected to strengthen the state’s law enforcement capacity while addressing unemployment among youth.

Civil Police Constable Vacancies Across Districts
Under the Civil Police Constable recruitment, a total of 3,395 vacancies have been allocated across districts and city units.

Among them, Bengaluru city has received the highest number with 2,130 posts, making it the largest recruitment hub under the civil constable category.

Other major allocations include 125 posts in Mangaluru city, 100 posts in Udupi district, 80 posts in Shivamogga district, 75 posts in Hubballi-Dharwad city, 70 posts in Mysuru city, and 70 posts in Dakshina Kannada district.

Additionally, 50 posts each have been allotted to Bengaluru district, Tumakuru, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Haveri, Uttara Kannada (Karwar), and Chikkamagaluru districts.

Meanwhile, Mysuru district has been allocated 60 posts, while Gadag district has received 35 posts.

Overall, 3,395 Civil Police Constable posts will be filled across various districts in Karnataka.

Civil Police Constable Posts Under Kalyana Karnataka Quota
Under the Kalyana Karnataka reservation category, a total of 593 Civil Police Constable posts have been announced.

Among these, 126 posts are allocated to Bengaluru city, 49 posts to Kalaburagi city, 110 posts to Kalaburagi district, 61 posts to Raichur district, 82 posts to Bidar district, 35 posts to Koppal district, 27 posts to Yadgir district, 40 posts to Ballari district, and 63 posts to Vijayanagara district.


KSRP Armed Reserve Constable Vacancies
The recruitment process also includes 1,421 vacancies for Armed Reserve Police Constables under the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP).

Among these, Bengaluru city again leads with 918 vacancies, followed by 50 posts in Mysuru city, 15 posts in Mangaluru city, 20 posts in Bengaluru district, 45 posts in Chikkaballapur, 40 posts in Mysuru district, 35 posts in Kodagu, 45 posts in Mandya, and 45 posts in Shivamogga district.

Further allocations include 25 posts in Chitradurga, 10 posts in Dakshina Kannada, 40 posts in Udupi, 50 posts in Uttara Kannada (Karwar), 20 posts in Chikkamagaluru, 15 posts in Dharwad, and 16 posts in Vijayanagara district.

In addition, 32 vacancies have been allotted to the KARP Mounted Company unit in Mysuru.

Armed Police Constable Vacancies Under Kalyana Karnataka
Under the Kalyana Karnataka category, a total of 179 Armed Police Constable posts have been announced.

Out of these, 83 posts are allocated to Bengaluru city, 15 posts to Kalaburagi district, 22 posts to Ballari district, and 59 posts to Vijayanagara district.

Through this recruitment drive, the Karnataka Police Department aims to fill 179 armed constable posts across various units in the Kalyana Karnataka region.
