Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s highly anticipated action sequel Dhurandhar 2 records massive advance booking, selling over 87,000 tickets and crossing ₹8 crore from paid premiere shows alone
Mumbai: The upcoming Bollywood action spectacle Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has created a massive buzz even before its official release. The film’s advance booking for paid premiere shows scheduled on March 18 has witnessed extraordinary demand, generating Rs. 8.06 crore in ticket sales within just 24 hours.
The sequel, which will hit theatres worldwide on March 19, began advance bookings soon after its trailer launch on March 7, and the response from audiences has been overwhelming. Industry observers believe the film is already on track to become one of the biggest box-office openings of the year.
Massive Advance Booking Within First 24 Hours
According to data from major ticketing platforms, the film recorded over 87,000 ticket sales in the first 24 hours of advance booking for its paid premiere shows. The majority of these tickets were sold through the popular booking platform BookMyShow, highlighting the intense anticipation among moviegoers.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that ticket sales have been happening at an exceptional pace, with an average of around 7,500 tickets being sold every hour shortly after bookings opened.
This unprecedented demand helped the film collect nearly Rs. 4 crore within the first two hours of booking itself, indicating a powerful start for the much-awaited sequel.
“The booking trend suggests an extraordinary opening. Dhurandhar 2 is witnessing one of the fastest advance ticket sales in recent times,” industry observers noted.
Multiplex Chains Contribute Major Revenue
According to a report by trade tracking platform Sacnilk, the film collected Rs. 4 crore globally within the first two hours of bookings. Out of this amount, approximately Rs2.5 crore came from major multiplex chains such as PVR, INOX and Cinepolis.
In key metropolitan regions such as Delhi-NCR, theatres have even introduced a new premium category called “Super Blockbuster Plus”, where ticket prices reportedly go as high as Rs. 2,500 per seat. Despite the premium pricing, the demand for premiere show tickets remains extremely strong.
Paid Premiere Shows Already Cross Rs. 8 Crore
The March 18 paid premiere screenings have already generated Rs8.06 crore in revenue, making it one of the strongest pre-release collections recorded for a Bollywood film in recent months.
Language-wise collection estimates from advance bookings indicate:
- Hindi version: Over Rs. 7 crore
- Telugu version: Around Rs. 5 lakh
- Tamil version: Approximately Rs. 4 lakh
- Kannada version: About Rs. 28,000
These numbers represent only the paid premiere booking collections, and trade experts predict that the first-day box office figures could be significantly higher once the film officially releases.
Expectations Rise After Historic Success of First Film
The excitement around the sequel is also fueled by the phenomenal success of the first film in the franchise, Dhurandhar. The original movie recorded a massive Rs28 crore opening day collection in India and went on to achieve a remarkable Rs1303.35 crore worldwide box office collection, setting new benchmarks.
With such a powerful legacy, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is widely expected to challenge or even surpass the records set by its predecessor.
Star-Studded Cast Adds to the Hype
Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film features an impressive ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi in significant roles.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film promises high-octane action, emotional drama and large-scale cinematic spectacle, which has further amplified audience excitement.
